This week’s report shows another relatively quiet sales period, but a few items are worth noting.
The only new issue logged since last week is the America the Beautiful 5-ounce silver coin honoring the final site in the series, Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site. It became available for purchase April 8, and it is now listed as Currently Unavailable on the Mint’s website. The report reflects 19,833 of its 20,000 mintage has been sold. We will likely see that number reflect max mintage in the near future.
A big mover this week is again the 2021 clad proof set. It made the jump from 219,576 to 227,776 for an increase of 8,200 units.
Speaking of big movers, sales of the 1-ounce silver bullion Eagles is very strong. Total sales for the month of April thus far came in at 1,053,000, posting a 76 percent increase from the week prior, proving that the fire of demand continues to burn.
The 2021 silver proof set – a product we’ve got our eye on, as we’re sure many collectors also do – is the next big thing to be released from the Mint. The $105 retail set becomes available April 22, and we will be sure to highlight those sales numbers as they begin rolling in.
