The bullion van robbery happened in the early hours of June 14th at Adedenko, a suburb of James Town in Accra.
The robbery took the life of General Constable Emmanuel Osei of the national SWAT unit and an eyewitness identified as Afua Badu, age 40. It also left the driver of the van fighting for his life at the Korle Bu hospital.
A social media post gone viral has captured what seem to be the last message and videos shared by Constable Emmanuel Osei before meeting his death in a gun fight.
The message was highlighting the point that every human on earth will not live forever and that everyone will surely die one day–as if he knew his time was up.
The Ghana Police force has spoken in the incident and has promised Ghanaians to get to the bottom of it.
Greater Accra Regional Police PRO, DSP Efia Tenge, made the assurance that the police is doing their best to arrest every suspect involved in the robbery and would plead on support from citizens with valid information to come forth and aid in the investigation.
The bodies of the deceased are at the Police Hospital for preservation and autopsy while the driver of the bullion van is said to be receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Below is a last video of Constable Emmanuel Osei on duty before boarding the bullion van to meet his death.
